Samson Tijani scored twice as the Golden Eaglets kick-off their campaign with a 4-2 win over Hungary.
Hungary opened scoring after 3 minutes catching the eaglets off guard when midfielder G Komaromi tapped in David Laszlo’s looping cross unmarked at the far post.
Nigeria quickly regained control of the game as Captain Samson Tijani converted a penalty in the 20th minute to drag them level.
The Hungarians struck again eight minutes later when Samuel Major made a surging run into the center of the box and finding the back of the net from 15 yards.
Nigeria pressured for most of the game and it finally payed off as the eaglets scored 3 goals in the space of 6 minutes to win the game 4-2.
Close range headers from Usman Ibrahim in the 79 minute and Oluwatimilehin Adeniyi just 2 minutes later put Nigeria in control, before Tijani sealed the deal with a free-kick that took a friendly deflection in the 85th minute.
Nigeria will take on Ecuador in Goiania, on 29 October 21:00 local time.
